Dr. Rumel Llantada

Dr. Rumel Llantada received his doctorate degree from Southern California University of Health Sciences in 2002. Dr. Llantada is a board certified chiropractor and also recognized as a certified chiropractic sports physician®. He graduated from University of Nebraska cum laude as a pre-med major earning his Bachelor of General Studies degree in biology. Prior to his undergraduate studies, Dr. Llantada proudly served this country in the United States Air Force for five years.

Dr. Llantada’s post graduate education includes extensive course training in sports medicine, advance radiology and interpretation, clinical nutrition, Graston technique® and advanced kinesio-taping application. He is certified in Graston Technique®Kinesio-Taping® and Titleist Golf Fitness Instructor Level II/Medical Professional.

Dr. Llantada is an associate member of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians®, American Chiropractic Association and California Chiropractic Association. Dr. Llantada currently serves as the team chiropractor for the Horizon High School football team and is an advisor to the school’s athletic trainer and athletic director, he also serves as the team chiropractor for the National City Bears, a semiprofessional football team. His passion and knowledge for the game of golf has allowed him the privilege to work with professional athletes and coaches on the Nationwide and PGA tours. Dr. Llantada has served as the sports medicine director for the Drew Brees Celebrity Classic here in San Diego and Marshall Faulk’s golf tournament at Pechanga. He is the official on-call chiropractor for the visiting teams participating in both the Poinsettia Bowl and Holiday Bowl and has served as committee member to the San Diego Bowl Games for nearly 10 years.

Dr. Llantada has been approved by the president of the Southern California University of Health Sciences to the post of Associated Faculty under the clinical internship division where he mentors young chiropractors about to enter the profession.

Dr. O’Connor

Dr. Nicholas O'Connor graduated from UCSB with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Sciences in 2012. A scientific mindset, an interest in manual therapy, and a desire to help others led him to attend Los Angeles Chiropractic College at SCUHS, graduating in 2015 with a Doctorate of Chiropractic degree. Returning to his hometown of San Diego, he is excited to be opening up his new practice to the public.

Dr. O'Connor practices Diversified chiropractic manipulation and employs myofascial release, instrument assisted soft tissue work, taping, and a myriad of physiotherapy modalities to treat his patients. Through his training, he has become proficient in treating spinal and sport related injuries affecting the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. He also has experience [with ergonomic counseling,] reading bloodwork, and managing nutritional/metabolic conditions.

Steve Sterling LAc, MS, ACN, DiplAC, DiplCH, DiplOM

Steve Sterling has a background in Biochemistry from UCSD and is a state licensed & nationally certifed acupuncturist. He has been in practice for over 12 years and has been the student of a Chinese Grandmaster for over 16 years. He received his MS from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego and is a candidate for the advanced Doctoral degree. Steve also studied in China at Nanjing University and interned at the PRC hospital specializing in the treatment of neurological conditions, and he has worked at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego treating patients after their surgery. His specialties include the treatment of muscle or joint pain, migraine, insomnia, digestive disorders, anxiety, depression, and stress.

Sports acupuncture is one of Steve’s specialties and his patients include professional and Olympic athletes including several Hall of Famers and Gold medalists.

Steve is also a writing contributor & content expert for the NCCAOM National Licensing Exam in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, and Western Biomedicine. He has served as an off campus clinic supervisor for PCOM acupuncture school and volunteered at the Veteran’s stand down and at the San Diego Healing Arts Festival he has assisted acupunture students in achieving their clinical learning objectives.
